FAQs

What does a Fractional Head of Legal or Compliance do?

A fractional GC or Head of Compliance gives you senior legal support without the cost of a full-time hire. I step in to help with contracts, regulatory questions, board matters, and product launches, so you get the benefit of in-house expertise when you need it.

Which companies do you work with?

I’ve worked with global fintech leaders such as Adyen, Klarna, and Monzo, and I now support ambitious fintechs and regulated businesses across the UK and EU as they build, fundraise, and expand.

Can you help with financial services regulation?

Yes. I advise on UK and EU regulatory frameworks including PSD2, MiFID, CASS, Outsourcing & DORA, and open banking. I also support with applications for EMI licences and related regulatory approvals.

Do you cover data protection and AI regulation?

Yes. I advise on GDPR, the Data Protection Act, Schrems II, and the emerging EU AI Act. I help businesses design processes that are compliant but still practical and growth-friendly

Can you help us prepare for an audit or board review?

Yes. I work with compliance and leadership teams to refresh risk registers, complete second-line reviews, and close out audit remediation items. I can also support with board governance, filings, and investor communications.

How do you charge for your services?

I offer flexible support on a fractional, project-based, or ad hoc basis. We can agree a retainer if you need ongoing cover, or fixed pricing for specific projects.

Are you a law firm?

No. I don’t offer regulated services that require me to be a law firm — for example, I don’t provide immigration services. I provide legal and compliance advice as a UK-qualified solicitor, regulated by the SRA, and I hold professional legal indemnity insurance — so you’re always covered.
